Mental Health Awareness Week
The students of Miss Hamna Naveed at the CSDL recently showcased an impressive array of projects, addressing a variety of critical global topics. The display included discussions on Drug Addiction, Freedom of Speech, Mental Health, Forced Marriages, Artificial Intelligence, and the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), reflecting the broad spectrum of contemporary communication issues. A particularly significant topic was the Palestine issue, which sparked in-depth and thoughtful dialogue among the students. They took the initiative to design and deliver speeches advocating for the boycott of products from Israeli companies, demonstrating their understanding of this complex issue. These speeches highlighted the students' ability to research, critically analyze, and effectively communicate their viewpoints, adding substantial depth and relevance to the project. This engagement with the Palestine issue underscored the importance of considering diverse perspectives in communication.
Another critical topic addressed during the project was the awareness of deepfake technology. Students recognized the dangers posed by highly realistic fake videos and audio recordings, focusing on educating their audience about the risks of misinformation, defamation, and privacy violations. By sharing preventive measures, they aimed to enhance digital literacy and resilience against online threats. This project display underscores the importance of discussing such critical issues openly, fostering informed, proactive, and socially responsible individuals. Open discussion of these topics is essential as it empowers students to navigate and address the complexities of the modern world effectively.
